Jennifer Grace Martinez is a Christian wife and mother of two, living in the hills of the Hudson Valley.  Having been trained in music and theatre since adolescence, Jennifer has been singing, acting and writing songs, short stories, and poetry since she was about 7 years old.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree at SUNY Empire State College, with a concentration in Theatre. She has performed in various stage plays and musical theatre productions, appeared in commercials for Cablevision, a foreign film entitled, “No Love in the City,” as well as in an episode of Mom’s Cooking on Lifetime Real Women’s Network.  She has taken courses such as scene study, improvisation, vocal performance, musical theatre and other courses at H.B. Studio, Weist Barron and Lee Strasberg in Manhattan.

Jennifer and some members of her Country music band have opened for Country Music legends such as Clint Black and Phil Vassar at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut.  She has also won a local singing competition for the Texaco Country Showdown, performing at the World’s Fair in front of close to a thousand people for the Regional competition.  Jennifer’s Country music band,  The Jennifer Grace Band, has performed at numerous venues and events in and around the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. Having previously been afflicted with cancer for a few years, the Holy Spirit guided her back to her writing.  For the last couple of years, Jennifer has been writing poetry and songs.  She has also recently written her first Christian Children’s Picture book, entitled, “Jasmine!” She is currently working to get her book published.

Jennifer attends writing workshops and has attended the Blue Ridge Christian Writers Conference, in the Black Mountains of North Carolina, as well as the Christian Children’s Conference, “Write2Ignite” in South Carolina. During Write2Ignite, Jennifer’s inspirational piece, “Jasmine” was selected to be published as a poem in the Faith and Freedom anthology, published by EA Publishing.

Jennifer teaches music class to young children both in a group setting through her town, and privately in her home. In her private and group music classes, Jennifer teaches pre-music skills and rhythm to the littles, using scarves, shakers, bells, and other percussion instruments. Older children learn sight singing, rhythm, note recognition, solfege, vocal health, and singing. Parents and children alike enjoy her Mommy and Me classes, as well as her private music lessons.

Jennifer is a Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports and Medicine (NASM).  She is also a Certified Yoga Instructor (Lotus Gardens Yoga Studio, Sherman, CT).  She is owner of Mommy Strong Fitness LLC.
